“Electronic” Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector

If my understanding is correct, ADC’s electronic version seems to be the industry-first. This “eADC” developed by China’s Sunobserver will be available thru Hutech in US shortly.

Once the initial set is done, the device automatically and continuously remove blue and red color fringes while flawlessly detecting the change of the target’s altitude and a telescope’s orientation.

Very neat!!

All electronics is packed into this compact box(90mm x 59mm x 28mm), which allows for the standalone operation without PC connection. We can get 5V power from USB.

We have already tested and verified it performed as designed and expected.

The following time-lapse movie captured by Dave Kodama should be one of big advantages over the manual ADC. According to him, the imaging duration is more than one hours.

As shown, the correction mode is fully and flawlessly engaged in the entire imaging session.

I will keep updated on our test.

US price will be $449.00

Stayed tuned.
