IDAS Body-mounted Filter for Canon Full Frame

Finally IDAS LPS-D1 filter is now available for Canon full frame camera too. It fits Canon 6D and 5D Mark II. Effective filter area is 37.2 mm x 25.4 mm, 1.9 mm thick. Maximizing the effective size was most challenging part for IDAS to design and produce. I think these numbers are very close to the technical limit. I’d like to applaud IDAS’s great efforts to maximize such a effective area.

Part # LPS-D1-EOSF

Price : $289.00

HEUIB-II and LPS-V4 are scheduled to be available after April.

We are preparing for the product page including the attachment procedure. In summary, remove a finder screen cover, lock a mirror up and insert in.

So it is forced to be used in live-view mode all the time when a filter is in. Like APS-C filter, Canon EF-S lens doesn’t work with the filter. I don’t think anyone wish to use EF-S lens with full frame camera though.

I understand many Canon full frame users have been eagerly waiting for this type of filter long time. This is the IDAS’s response to the users’ voice. Now you can enjoy IDAS-proprietary LPS performance with Canon full frame camera and wide-angle lens together.

One Response to “IDAS Body-mounted Filter for Canon Full Frame”

  1. Wonderful to hear the IDAS will release this soon. Do you know, Will IDAS release HEUIB-II for a replacement stock filter in Canon EOS 6D? Because I want to remove original filter in front of the 6D and replace HEUIB-II instead. So, I can use this camera like an astro-camera or day light camera. And a plus, if I want to take Ha image, I can put Ha in frame of EOSF stack in front of HEUIB-II filter also.
