M45 and California Nebula

This gorgeous picture was taken by Sam Berrada with his BORG 90FL.

A lot of faint gas around Subaru (= that’s one of my favorite cars too). Really great image, Sam. He says total exposure was 4 hours.

This is my another shot before Sh2-240 was coming up last weekend.

LPS-V4 is a great nebula filter to turn background darker to make the image higher contrast. So it is very useful for faint targets. But one drawback is to lose star color. I think that’s the nature of narrowband filter. I forgot to switch to HEUIB-II. California nebula was bright enough.
