I have realized HEUIB-II filter should be perfect for nighttime landscape shots with modified DSLRs. These were taken by Scott Denning.  The filter isolates Ha emission from the background while maintaining the overall color balance correctly, including the terrestrial section.

denning1Single shot of mountain in moonlight, 45 s at 24 mm f/4. No calibration frames. Gentle curves adjustment in photoshop. Color balance as shot in modified 40D.  Tracking at half sidereal with Vixen Polarie on a photo tripod.

denning2Two single frames, no calibration. 85mm at F2, 90 sec at f/2

Paul Chasse is enjoying with his recent system. Nice color!!
