Purely Japanese Orthos Come Back

Japanese Orthoscopics were well known as wonderful planetary eyepieces with very reasonable cost. However, they were not available these years since the production requires very highly skillful works. We were all concerned Japanese Ortho will be fading out. Thanks, Mr.Kasai. He stood up and managed to continue to make Japanese eyepieces after coordinating some plants. As a result, they will be revived as pure Japanese-made eyepieces under “KASAI” brand.

1) Classic Abbe Orthoscopics

Completely reproduced as classic Abbe Orthos.

5, 6, 7, 9, 12 & 18mm are available. 42-degree AFOV. Each eye relief is approx. 80% of each focal length. Fully multi-coated. I’m sure these should be great eyepieces for bird watching as well.

2) Astroplan

5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 & 20mm are available. 50-degree AFOV. 85% eye relief of each focal length. Fully multi-coated.

While the above are ideal for planetary viewing, we will have 85-degree AFOV extra wide eyepieces. They are extremely wide. But head is not as big as others. 2″ OD is still 60mm. It’s good for bino-scope setup.

Following sizes are available.

10mm(1.25″)/16mm(1.25″)/20mm(2″)/26mm(2″)/32mm(2″)

Also some other triplet/doublet barlow lenses are available too. Above all 100% Japanese-made products will be distributed by Hutech in North America and will start being demonstrated at PATS next week.
