Kenko Mount

Kenko single fork mount will be available at some of astro shops including Hutech soon. Good feature is Vixen-compatible mounting interface, which makes easier to attach most of telescopes. Also slow-motion controls are very smooth.  Like Borg mount, the issue is to point to the zenith in alt-az mode. Mini Borg configuration allows to point to the zenith without any problem. But larger scopes have the restriction for observing area, or set pan-tilt head like the wedge for equatorial mode. The weight – 1.2kg is twice heavier than Borg single fork mount. But still compact and light enough to easily carry with telescopes.  It has 1/4″-20 thread at the bottom. Made in Japan. The target price is $259.00 Very rigid-made!

The above is shown with BORG 101ED and SLIK AMT-alloy tripod. The scope is set via Losmandy-made Vixen dovetail plate. Feel like the mount still works with BORG 5″ too. But larger tube makes more problem to let the scope swing up.  BORG 4″ has no problem in weight and length at all.
