2 Responses to “Comet C/2012 K5 passing over Auriga”
Ted, last Sat. evening (1/12), I shot the area and centered the frame where C/2012 K5 was supposed to be with a 300mm Zuiko, at f/5.6, on a Canon 60D at ISO800. I stacked 38 2-minute exposures. Absolutely no sign of the Comet.
I should have added that my image showed mag 13 stars clearly. No “fuzzball” anywhere in the vicinities it was predicted to be. Even though slightly different from each other, those predictions were in the FOV of my stacked image.
The comet was predicted to fade “rapidly” after Jan 1. It sure has.
