Haruka

Haruka – 125SD bino is now ready for NEAF.

System weight got 10 lbs lighter than the previous. It’s now 28 lbs including 2″ eyepieces. So the weight shouldn’t be the issue for LX-80. We plan to carry following bino sets.

Haruka (125SD)

Sakura (77EDII)

Hotaru (71FL)

*Technically 60ED/45EDII fit onto this new platform as well.

Let’s see how it works with Meade LX-80. My only concern is the Haruka’s stability during the operation in single fork-like mounting setup. Sakura and Hotaru should be no problem at all since their weights are way lower. High power planetary viewing with 125SD bino is incredible and unforgettable. But so far, my experience was no motor-driven tracking. That was really painful. So I hope LX-80 eliminates my pain, and give me additional function – GOTO. Let’s see……
