Black BORG
I got 1st spotting scope unit (BU-1). It’s really cool as 1st black color BORG. It more looks like Nikon telephoto lenses when a camera is attached. It turns 510mm telephoto lens with 77EDII. The unit has smooth helical focuser, drawtube and camera rotator. Alsl it has a plenty of back focus. As shown below, it still allows to reach focus even in binoviewer+erecting prism setup. This never happens in conventional spotting scopes. This prototype will show up at NEAF and commercial units will be available early of May.
BTW, I start using Daiwa tripod. Daiwa is well known as broadcast head and tripod manufacturer in Japan. Now they have more suitable tripods and heads for amateur requirements. My DST-43 is well designed. Best thing is the ball-leveler, which allows for quick leveling without adjusting leg length. It’s very good feature. Check out their web site – DAIWA
